Created in the 1970s by a Raphaëloise family, the estate whose name was “Terres Hautes” at the time, gradually established its vines on the first slopes of the Esterel. Some of them are still rooted in volcanic stones and continue to produce their famous Provence elixir. In 2000, the estate became the property of a famous racing driver who fell under the spell of this protected site and its wine-growing potential. During all these years, the grapes picked at maturity in September saw their destiny ending in the vats of cooperative cellars. It was only in 2010, thanks to its acquisition by Philippe Polette, that the estate under its new name “Terres Destel” was finally able to vinify and age its wines in a new cellar built in the heart of the vineyard. It is now on a property of 25 ha fully enclosed including 12 ha of vines that the “Terres Destel” wines are made until they are bottled, and their tasting in the cellar is a privileged moment for discerning amateurs who wish learn more about the complexity of this terroir.
